Young And Dumb
Here's me and my 14 year old niece Skylar Goldman performing the Rubber City Rebels' single "Young And Dumb" in my sister's kitchen on August 1, 2010.
Corrupting the youth! YEAH!
(By the way, I'm not left-handed. We did this using Mac's Photobooth application, which automatically makes a mirror image video.)

Nice song, well sung and great guitar play.
Keep on corrupting the youth, was this done in Milli Vanilli style?
Not Milli Vanilli style. She's really singing. The video is out of sync and I don't know why.
Nice job, I enjoyed it...she looks like a young Katie Perry.
Your guitar sounded good.

My former associate tried to explain Presentation Time Stamps and Display Time Stamps to McApple but his words fell upon deaf ears. McApple is stuck in one infinite loop (and they can't escape).
Some people that worked this out for DVD got comfy retirements.
I am not now, nor have I ever been, a member of the McApple support cult - I long ago worked with RISC chips and more recently CISC.
Cheers,
Chas
Is that an old Fender acoustic? Its got a good full sound.
Your niece pulled off the perfect bratty vocal (I mean by that its perfect) for this tune, nice!
Groovy.
That was pretty cool. Sometimes playing in the kitchen brings out the best in spontaneity.
Eat a peach.
I wanted to add the templates for interviewing a life issue where you're stuck and also some stupid dream character you've always wondered about, but no room in this post. Are you listening to yourself or just blowing all the wake-up calls as makyo?
Surfing life is a gas: balance, sun, and getting dunked all the time. What could be better?

Brad: Skylar is awesome. She is a way better singer than you ever were. Sorry about the the truth. Why didn't you just play left handed so the vid would look right? You ruined it by wanting to sound good.
If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything; it is open to everything. In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities; in the expert's mind there are few.

what? you think ya got stupid here?
That was really good! Catchy. Maybe you two should hit the road.
That was an excellent performance. And Skylar taking a bite out of that sandwich immediately before she started singing was SO punk!
Great video, great song, and you two did awesome. Your playing was great and Skylar's voice is outstanding! You guys make a great duo!
Ms. Goldman's singing: confident, controlled and authentic.
Mr. Warner's guitar accompaniment: spare, incisive and appropriate.
The duo's nonchalant, bemused engagement with the camera charmed.
Hey this is Skylar, I don't have a blog, haha. But whoever said I look like a young Katy Perry, thank you SO much! Lol. and if anyone knows any recording people that could hook me up, cause I've wanted to be famous since I was like,3. That'd be awesome. Sooo yeah. Hope you liked the video. The quality sucked. Ha, but believe me i'm not lipsyncing. or how ever you spell it, it's all me(:
Hey skylar - it's the devil's music, you know. Don't let that smooth-talking zen-punk uncle tell ya any different ;)

These lame posts are adolescents on a failed power flex.
The kids filed back into class Monday morning. They were very excited.
Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on productive salesmanship.
Little Sally led off: "I sold girl scout cookies and I made $30," she said proudly, "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success."
"Very good," said the teacher.
Little Jenny was next:
"I sold magazines," she said, "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events."
"Very good, Jenny," said the teacher.
Eventually, it was Little Johnny's turn.
The teacher held her breath ....
Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher's desk.
"$2,467," he said.
"$2,467!" cried the teacher, "What in the world were you selling"
"Toothbrushes," said Little Johnny.
"Toothbrushes," echoed the teacher, "How could you possibly sell enough toothbrushes to make that much money?"
"I found the busiest corner in town," said Little Johnny, "I set up a Dip & Chip stand, and I gave everybody who walked by a free sample."
They all said the same thing, "Hey, this tastes like dog shit!"
Then I would say,"It is dog shit. Wanna buy a toothbrush?"
"I used the governmental approach of giving you something shitty that they say is good, and then making you pay to get the shitty taste out of your mouth."
@ Mysterion. That's rude to say lame. And anyway your even lamer cuz youre so OLD and dumb and I'm YOUNG and dumb so I got an excuse and you'll be dead long before me. ROFL!!! Most likely. And @Ronald Reagan that joke sux.
Now there you go again, Anonymous.
Mr. Warner!
Tear down this blog!
Troll: Not only are you not shocking but you are an incredibly dull person. Shocking would be a big improvement.
CAPTCHA : crypoon : I kid you not
Too true, A-Bob, a Droll Troll.
"Wanna buy a toothbrush?""
tea-baggers, out of desperation, have even brought their foul breath here...

Hey, I enjoyed that song!

H.
A tree's a tree. How many more do you need to look at?
When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat.
Facts are stupid things.
Ok, thats pretty nice.
A few more lessons in punk-rock from the guy left to her and Skylar is ready to make boys cry.
Rock on girl.

Gerald
"Dutch" Reagan was Irish. He adopted the radio name "Dutch" in an attempt to disguise his stupidity. In the end, it didn't work.
Ronald Wilson Reagan was born February 6th, 1911 in rural Tampico, Illinois. The Reagan family lived in several small Illinois towns before settling in Dixon.
He graduated from Dixon High School in 1928 and went on to attend Eureka College, a small liberal arts institution near Peoria, Illinois. He majored in economics and sociology, graduating in 1932.
Although the unemployment rate in the country stood at 25%, Ronald Reagan managed to land a job as sportscaster at WOC Radio in Davenport, Iowa. "Dutch" gained national media exposure for completely faking a Chicago Cubs baseball game from the studio.
In 1937, Ronald Reagan enlisted in the Army Reserve as a Private, but was promoted to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant (he was a tool of WWII propaganda). That same year, he took a screen test at Warner Brother's studios. He was hired on the spot. He made more than 50 films, normally playing the hero.
In his second term Alzheimer's mind, he actually thought that he could fly an airplane (he couldn't)

George W. Bush was there, but never elected.
Reagan was elected, but never there.

That song was in my head all day! Like I said, catchy.
"cuz I am young and dumb"
who do you think you are kidding you old fart!
Brad: Who's idea was that song? I'm just wondering..
As the opening prayer was being offered, the television cameras scanned the crowded rotunda. It was then that I noticed that Ron Reagan Jr. was standing erect, head unbowed, and eyes open. It was then that I said to my family that I guessed that Ron Reagan Jr. was either an atheist or an agnostic. I was right. Ron Reagan Jr. is an atheist.
Love hurts.

Uh Right.. And don't forget to take your meds.
"Time The Revelator"? No, that would be "John The Revelator".

i heard the black keys on the radio today and afterward the DJ said there is a current "rubber city revival" happening. wha? he referenced new Devo and Pretenders LPs as being included in this. weird. anyway, great cover of RCR you two.
Yep, Son House, "JOHN the Revelator." He also wrote the extra great "Death Letter Blues."
Most of these has beens have no other skills, Rinz, so when the royalty checks slow down or disappear altogether, there are no other options. Most of the bands you mentioned have no dignity to begin with, so I am not surprised at their "comebacks." The band that surprised me by returning to the stage was GANG OF FOUR.
Rinz, you're so damned right.
I like it to be a carpenter and I never went to college.

Banksy said "Everybody will be anonymous for 15 minutes in the future." (Actually that was the title of one of his art pieces I think once owned by Dennis Hopper R.I.P.) -a play on the old Andy Warhol quote about being famous for 15 min.
I think this is the way of the future, what with this blog clogged with pseudonyms and anonymous blog comments. Also a way out of the culture of the spectacle, the celebrity.
Back in 1987 I started Anonymous International, an art movement celebrating the enormous contributions of "anonymous" over the centuries of art history (see all the cave paintings at Lascaux and elsewhere in France and Spain, which have never been equaled in execution and sheer beauty).
We had one show of art sent from all over the world by artists unconcerned with having their names attached to what was exhibited, however, at the time author Peter Lambourn Wilson (aka Hakim Bey, who penned T.A.Z. The Autonomous Zone) predicted the movement's eventual failure based on how everyone ultimately wants credit for whatever they create.
I went to college and recommend it, But that was back before it cost $40,000 a year. What the fuck is wrong with America that we make our children mortgage their future before they are old enough to drink?
It seems that everyone experiences their youth twice, once in reality and once as nostalgia. What you're seeing with these band reunions happens every generation and is just oldsters trying to fan the embers of youth before they lay themselves in the cold, cold ground.

That's so yesterday.
Cremation is today. Keep a rotten body? For WHAT?
That myth is as buried as the Neanderthals.
"Burial was the norm in the Western world probably until the mid-60s. But cremation has increased since then by about 10 percent in every decade. I think the national rate now is right around 38 percent." source
feed the birds... bring back SKY BURIAL!
nostalgia for old deaths, ahhhh
So, this is what this blog is going to be like while his holiness is away at tassajara?
tassajara?
we don't got no tassajara.
we don't need no stinking tassajara.
"So, this is what this blog is going to be like while his holiness is away at tassajara?"
Jimmy, It might be ok.. It obviously depends a lot on you.
"What the fuck is wrong with America that we make our children mortgage their future before they are old enough to drink?"
Jinzang, I am an American and I don't make anyone do anything. Nowadays there are better ways to invest your money than getting a diploma. I think kids see that.
I loved seeing this vid, and how a family can just have fun hanging out and playing a song and singing. Thanks for the smiles, Brad and Skylar. :D
